Gearbox Software developed the game for Windows using a very heavily modified GoldSrc engine (derived from the Opposing Force fork, also developed by Gearbox), which Aspyr later re-released for the Mac. The computer versions are substantially different from the console versions, featuring different missions and a modified story line.
