A Yummy Food Tour with Istanbul Eats in Kadıköy | Lahmacun, Baklava & Pickle Juice! 🇹🇷

Travel: The Good, The Bad & The Funny7:022013Food & Cooking

http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Istanbul Eats guide "G" led us down the market street in Kadikoy and into a shop that sold different kinds of Pickle Juice that tasted...just like a pickle. Turks love pickle juice but it was a little too salty for my taste. Dry Baklava, wet Baklava, delicious Lahmacun (think pizza) that is traditionally eaten with Sumac/Sumach sprinkled over it; a spice from berries of a flowering plant. I think of Poison Ivy when Sumac is mentioned and was surprised to hear Poison Ivy comes from only one species of Sumac. Tantuni is relatively new in Istanbul, was a group favorite, and resembled a rolled up Burrito! More stops. More samples. Kokoretto (sweetbreads). Lentil soup, Sheep head and feet soup which tasted better than it sounded. We're still not done yet.... Please don't forget to Subscribe Share and Like. Thanks.
