BACKPACKING - Our Adventure at The Whipple Trail in Pine Valley

In this video, my daughter and my dog joined me to another three days and two nights backpacking adventure to the Whipple Trail, located in the Pine Valley Wilderness, which is part of the Dixie National Forest. The Whipple Trail starts right off of the Pine Valley Recreational Area, at the Whipple Valley Trailhead. It starts very easy with little elevation at an altitude of approximately 7,250 feet for the first few switchbacks, and then it turns into smaller switchbacks but steeper ones as is quick gains elevation all the way up to 9,500 feet in altitude. It is a well-maintained trail with just a few logs to step over. In summary, it starts smooth and become moderate. This trail is 6 miles long one-way, and it leads to the Whipple Valley which is a beautiful meadow. Unfortunately, we could only go halfway because the trail is closed for hiking, as it gets closer to the area that was affected by the fire in June of 2018.
