Router Tablesaw Table Extension: DIY Tablesaw Extension Pt.2. In the first part of this project we prepared the table extension cut out. It was measured then cut to the correct dimensions using a jigsaw. In this video, part 2, we cut out the router support piece and the table insert to which the router will be bolted and which will rest on the router support piece. Measure out the router support dimensions using 3/4" ply or MDF. Clamp a straight edge along the lines as a guide for the jigsaw. Clear away the dust with an air gun and prepare the surfaces for gluing. Apply the glue - in this case contact adhesive - evenly to both the table saw extension table and the router table support. Use some scrap wood stock to prevent glue from covering the lip. Once the glue has dried enough, place the router support piece inside the table saw extension.
