Mae Hong Son Loop: 1,864 Turns & Hidden Thailand Gems
Travel: The Good, The Bad & The Funny6:482013Travel
http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com We see Wats on hills, in compounds, free-standing, old and new. I discover that T-shirts with the number "1,864" surrounded by Thai writing stands for the 1,864 turns on the road from Chiang Mai to Mai Hong Son! We pass tea plantations, visit minorities, stop for "pee breaks" at immaculate places and those that were one inch under water which I promptly step in. We eat beyond wonderful food in local places for so little money, it was almost embarrassing. If you haven't visited Thailand yet, it's the plane fare that makes this interesting country expensive; nothing else, and it's a not to be missed destination.
