I had wanted to stay at The Witchery by the Castle since the first time I saw it. I couldn't afford it then, but returning eight years later I was determined to spend at least one night there. It lived up to all my expectations. The Witchery by the Castle is a boutique hotel and restaurant featuring nine uniquely themed rooms, each with their own secrets. The hotel, said to take its name from the hundreds of witches burned at the stake on Castlehill, sits in the historic heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. The room in the video is the Inner Sanctum. It's quirky and full of old world charm. Several antiques placed around the room are said to have come from the castle itself. There is a large entry containing a chandelier and two couches with street level views of the Royal Mile. The spacious bathroom is home to a beautiful tub, the oldest piece in the room, complete with brass and silver detailing, and a vanity.
