We’ve been in Florida for almost three weeks, after kicking off 2026 in the Florida Keys, with one big goal: visiting all 50 U.S. states by the end of 2026. This is State #11, and before checking Florida off the list, there was one place everyone said we had to stay—Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Often ranked as one of the best RV campgrounds in Florida and even the best campground at Disney World, Fort Wilderness gets a lot of hype. But there’s a catch we’ve never been to Fort Wilderness or Disney World. And the advice we kept hearing? “Newbies should avoid this campground.” So naturally, we booked it anyway. We stayed in a Premium Full Hookup RV site with electric, water, sewer, and a concrete pad, so the RV part was easy. The real challenge was navigating Fort Wilderness and Disney World as first-timers. In this video, we share what surprised us, what we messed up, and the big question: Is Disney’s Fort Wilderness worth it for first-time RVers and Disney newbies?
