--- 🩸 Improvised Tourniquet — Quick Guide 🚑 - When: use only if direct pressure fails and no commercial tourniquet is available. - Material: use strong, flat cloth (triangular bandage, clothing) ~5 cm wide — avoid string/wire. - Placement: put above the wound, on the mid-shaft (not over a joint). - Apply: tie a half-knot, insert a windlass (stick/pen/wood), twist until bleeding stops. - Record: mark “T + time” visibly; do not remove — leave for clinicians. - Tell EMS: inform ambulance crew immediately on arrival. - Reassure: it will be painful but lifesaving — keep the casualty calm. ⬇️ Watch the full video for the step-by-step demo and safety notes.
