How to Build a Gantry Crane Part 13 VSEQ 013
Papaul's Projects29:052016
This is the thirteenth in a sequence of videos produced to show the fabrication of a Gantry Crane. In this video we show using a hole saw to cut four 3 " holes in a 6 X 20 structural steel wide flange, which will ultimately be the top beam of the gantry crane. We used the Noga Mini Cool Mist coolant to provide cooling during the hole saw cutting. All worked very well! We then milled out the web between the the flanges to accept a 3" diameter tube. This tube was cut in the horizontal ban saw, then faced to length in our manual lathe.
