This is a new song from my upcoming, second LP 'Vaquero'. A big thanks to my good friend Luc Valcourt for filming out there in the sub zero weather. This entry was recorded in the beautiful North Carolina Appalachian Mountains, in the dead of winter, next to the wagon trail where Luc's Scots-Irish family arrived many moons ago. A more recent immigrant from Ulster myself, I feel at home in these hills. They remind me of my Irish childhood home. This record in general concerns my coming to terms with being 'semi-American' and fully embracing and owning the rich tapestry of American music I've come to know and love over the years.
