Canada Day Rescue part 3

On Canada Day, a rescue group in Yellowknife contacted SCARS to see if we could help an injured dog. The dog was flown to Edmonton, via First Air Cargo. A staff member from First Air came to work on the holiday to arrange delivery of the dog at the airport to SCARS volunteers. The dog was then transported to Guardian Veterinary Centre for treatment. Initially, it was thought she would need surgery to repair a broken pelvis. But on closer examination from the team at Guardian, it was determined with time and rest, she will heal on her own. SCARS was told that her name is Metis! She is a very quiet and calm girl that is only 1.5 years old. We are looking forward to providing her with a loving home.
