How to Write the Name for Cu2O : Copper (I) oxide

In this video we'll write the correct name for Cu2O. To write the name for Cu2O we’ll use the Periodic Table and follow some simple rules. Because Cu2O has a transition metal we need to indicate the ionic charge using Roman numerals in parenthesis. ---Keys for Naming Compounds with Transition Metals--- 1. Write the name of transition metal as it appears on the Periodic Table. 2. Write the name and charge for the non-metal. If you have a polyatomic ion, use the Common Ion Table to find and write the formula and charge. 3.
