63 Dollar Snap-on Impact Restoration...was it worth it

Welcome to the channel! In this restoration video, I bring a Snap-on XT7100 impact wrench back to life—picked up on eBay for around $63, with the seller noting it leaked air. Along with the tool, I sourced a full rebuild kit to restore it properly (also Found on eBay). I completely disassembled the unit, sandblasted the impact housing, and used JB Weld to fill casting marks and pitting in the magnesium housing. This ensured a smooth finish that could withstand the high temperatures required for powder coating. I chose a satin red powder coat to stay true to the tool’s original look. During reassembly, I replaced all critical components, including O-rings, bearings, vanes, the socket retainer, valve seat, trigger valve, and gasket. I also discovered missing steel balls and a spring in the forward/reverse selector, which were replaced. Additionally, a damaged O-ring on the front end plate was addressed.
