Wildlife Conservation & Habitat Restoration Program 2020, is a joint effort between the Wildlife Department, Conservation experts, Forrest Department, Civil Administration, Police, Rangers with resolute support from the Pakistan Army. It aims to achieve wildlife conservation goals in the Cholistan Desert by restoring habitat, reduction in deforestation, increased focus on afforestation, and nurturing grazing areas. It also includes a long term plan to breed and re-introduce endangered wildlife such as blackbuck back in a safe natural environment where it can thrive. This is a multi-prong effort to save the endangered species, to improve the management of game reserves, and to use modern technology to protect and conserve endangered bird and animal species which are native to the Cholistan Desert.
