Yosemite Creek to El Capitan wilderness backpacking

Backpacking 2 nights in the Yosemite National Park Wilderness to get a look over the edge of El Capitan. Our Trailhead is Yosemite Creek Campground. It is 9.2 miles each way to El Capitan, and another half mile and 500 ft descent to the cliff edge which is about 3000 ft above the Valley. If anyone knows more about exactly where that benchmark is, please comment!! As far as I can tell The Nose route should be to the right (west) of me. I also attempt to find the top of the Dawn Wall. I'm in the neighborhood, but not quite there I think. Wilderness permits are issued by Trailhead, not destination. You write a first night's destination on the application for the purpose of showing you know you are using the correct trailhead.
