Rigid R11 Cherokee Knife Found Buried and Restored

Buddy of mine's father found this buried and gave it to him, he gave it to me to fix up and return to his father. I kind of want to keep it now! From what I can figure out Rigid was a custom knife manufacturer started by two guys at Buck who wanted their designs made but kept getting stonewalled. They started making knives in their garage and selling them (Taboo) until Buck found out and got rid of them. Their designs from the same period tended to be larger and heftier. This one appears to be a early 70's model. You can tell it's a very heavy well made knife, a lot of heft in the hand. After redoing this one I realized it's a relatively rare knife. I am wondering if I should have gone with the original rosewood handle Instead of the Walnut, Bubinga, and Osage Orange. In any case, enjoy!
